Peyton Bell, 60, of Jones Creek passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at his residence. He was born October 20, 1948, in Sabine Pass, Texas, to Peyton and Helen Toler Bell.
He was a lifelong resident of Freeport and graduated from Brazosport High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and was a tugboat captain for 33 1/2 years. Peyton was a loving husband, father, brother and papa and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 1/2 years, Shirley; daughter, Michelle Casper and husband, Ben; sons, Michael Wayne and Robert Lee Bell; sister, Brenda McKinney; grandchildren, Mathew Wade Bell, Christopher Michael Bell and Cheyanne “Charlee” Casper; and many other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Van Rheen; and brother, James Michael Bell.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, February 16, 2009, at Stroud Funeral Home.
